The Magic Lake Property Owners Society (MLPOS) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is usually held on the last weekend of September.
The AGM for 2011 will be held Saturday, 17 September 2011, at the Pender Island Elementary School commencing at 2:00pm.

MLPOS Board of Directors meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 3:00 pm at the Community Room of the Pender Island Elementary School. Everyone is Welcome. Note that due to logistical problems the meeting time and date may be changed on occasion, so check the Pender Post and this website for those announcements.

CASUAL MOORAGE RATES as of 2010 (ie. moorage possibly available to those without a permanent slip and with the proper insurance):
$0.60 per foot per day; $1.75 per foot per week; $3.50 per foot per month.
MARINA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The marina managers have a 'wish list' of projects to be done which need volunteers to complete. Brian Starkey is the marina special projects manager. Contact him for projects that you might be able to help him with. Call him at 250.629.8356 or send an email by clicking here.
PCOC CARD NOW REQUIRED!
All operators of powered craft must carry proof of competency at all times as of September 15, 2009. Violators are subject to a $250 fine. You can write the Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) exam through the local Power & Sail Squadron. Call 250.629.6638.
NEW BOAT LICENSING PROCEDURES
As of November 1, 2010 to get your free pleasure craft license you must mail the appropriate documents to the Pleasure Craft Licensing Centre.
DEADHEAD MARKERS
Markers consisting of modified golf clubs with flags are available to mark dangerous deadheads. They are available at the marina building.
MARINA THEFTS AND MARINA-WATCH
Thefts occur occasionally in the marina.
Be extra vigilant and report suspicious activity to the RCMP.
BOATS AND EQUIPMENT FOR SWAP OR SALE
Check the bulletin board outside the marina building (see map on the home page). Also check the bulletin boards at the Driftwood Centre, Browning Pub, and Hope Bay Store.
Letters from the President - Current and Archives
Fall 2011
The Directors did accomplish their principal duty of maintaining the Marina and the Tennis Courts. We kept our financial affairs in order, paid our bills and complied with all legal obligations. I give my thanks to our Treasurer Jean Deschenes and our Administrator, Joanna Rogers.
We do not know the cost of renewing our marina water lease in a few months with the province. That news will come later this year. We expect an increase in the leasing cost but do not know any details as of now. I appreciate Director Brian Starkey’s robust efforts to guide us through the complicated steps of lease renewal.
I congratulate Director Peter Testamale on his initiative to seek property tax exemption from the Capital Regional District. We received confirmation that CRD Director Ken Hancock will support our exemption application to the CRD Board. We also heard the CRD has reservations about how “public” our facilities are in comparison to other recreational facilities. We expect the decision in late September.
Notice of Motion:
There will be two Special Resolutions amending our Bylaws. One) to change the minimum number for quorum at the Annual General Meeting from 40 to 20; Two) to revise the titles for the Directors.
